Here are a few layouts from our fun night out. I have so few pictures of our family at night that either I don’t take too many pictures at night or we don’t get out much. That’s a shame because look at how much fun my little boy is having!?!? The town had a band playing while we all waited for it to become dark enough for the fireworks. Michael, who loves to dance, spent the time twirling, running, and moving his little body to every song.
Love this picture of him in mid-motion with Gabriel going crazy with the light-stick in the background.
At least they took a break long enough to allow mom and dad to get their picture snapped together. This is a rarity in our lives so I had to scrap it. Picture courtesy of our 8-year-old photographer.
I had to take advantage of the night-time shot to use Dear Lizzy’s “Lucky Charm” collection. We are approaching our wedding anniversary so I’m making more of a concerted effort to take pictures of us. I’m also starting to feel the emotional significance of sharing a decade of our lives as husband and wife. I’m lucky to have found someone to love to the stars and back … very lucky.
Finally my favorite shot of the night:
I scored big time catching Gabriel in motion with a perfect smile. His gaze gave me a sense of hope–hence the title. He seems to have found his footing in our neighborhood and with our new routines. He’s learned to appreciate the differences in our daily life. His sense of adventure has returned. He’s looking forward to a new school year and sports’ practices. His renewed spirit is contagious. His good spirits are lifting us all.
