Wow, summer is coming to a close! I’m getting my oldest ready for 3rd grade and trying to wrap my head around the idea that summer is coming to an end. We had quite a few adventures, found new things to do but best of all we weren’t moving. The boys proved their resiliency and have settled nicely into our neighborhood.
But life being what it is (READ: UNEXPECTED DETOURS) we had to juggle our summer family schedules to lend assistance elsewhere. Major kudos to my husband for looking after the kids, rearranging his work and travel schedules, and keeping the kids busy enough so that they didn’t realize Mommy was around much.
I was busy tending to a sick relative. Good thing to because the East Coast was in a heat wave during the month of July, Restless boys and heat waves are not an easy combo when parenting.
Fortunately, the boys stayed cool in a backyard kiddie pool. That and waterguns kept them entertained. No pics of water-gun-fare because it’s not that easy to duck and shoot.
And this is where I am happy for late summer sunsets. Despite a busy day, I still made it home in time to catch the town’s fireworks with the family. This was our first time seeing Needham’s fireworks and we were impressed. We missed the camaraderie of our friends since we didn’t know many people on the field but hopefully they’ll be able to join us next year. I can assure everyone that the show was SO worth it.
Wish summer didn’t have to end …
Have a good week everyone!
