2005 marked our first Christmas with Gabriel. Everyone in the family went all out because he was our first child and the first grandchild. We celebrated with his grandparents that year. The halls were decked out and the entire house brimmed with Christmas cheer.
What I remember most from that holiday is Gabriel’s curiosity. He knew something was different from his everyday routine. After all, our houses are not filled with twinkling lights, wrapped boxes, and a live tree all year round. Gabe’s eyes were wide with excitement. It was such fun to see him happily taking in all the lights and dancing santas and snowmen.
Here’s a layout I did from one of many photos I took that year. See how he’s gravitating towards that tree? At first we all thought we wanted the gifts. But his little 7 month old self ignored those and wiggled towards the heavily decorated tree. This year, Gabriel told me that a decorated tree was his favorite part of the holidays. Clearly he started young with that fascination. I hope he never outgrows it.

Layout made with my January 2013 Counterfeit Kit.
